NT1PC Hands Over the 3rd Installment of Village Fund

On November 14, 2024, Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited (NT1PC) continued its commitment to improving the lives of the Project Affected Person (PAP) in Viengthong District, Bolikhamxay Province by handing over the third installment of the 2024.

During the handover ceremony, The Social Section Manager, Mr. Bounpheng DUANGMALA, handed 449,000,000 LAK to Mr. Khammone, Viengthong District Governor, on behalf of the village groups. The event was attended by local stakeholders, including representatives from the members of Viengthong Lao Women’s Union, district authorities, village authorities and village fund committees.

These funds will be specifically loaned by the PAPs to bolster their livelihood options that are supported by NT1PC. We are highly committed to improve the livelihood of PAPs by supporting 22 livelihood options including on-farm and off-farm activities.

There are four installments in total which has been planned to provide annually and will be ended in 2025. Since 2022, a total of 1,911,911,368 LAK has been allocated to the fund. NT1PC has contributed 1,597,200,000 LAK, while villagers have deposited 326,849,000 LAK.

We are delighted to see our targeted communities effectively manage the fund to grow their business and ulthemately contribute to the betterment of their lives. We hope our communities will continue this good work for a better future and sustainability.
