Nam Theun 1 Power Company Limited is currently conducting an inspection of its power generation system and other equipment to ensure continued efficient and safe operation and maintain a reliable supply of electricity.

The Nam Theun 1 Power Plant in Pakkading District, Bolikhamxay Province, Laos, is currently undergoing its scheduled maintenance inspection to ensure continued safe and efficient operation. This routine inspection, conducted by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), is a contractual requirement outlined in the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between NT1PC and EGAT, taking place every three years.

From January 12th to 29th, 2025, EGAT’s expert technicians are carrying out comprehensive checks on critical systems, including the turbine and generator, electrical systems, and mechanical components. The inspection process involves detailed measurements, inspections, cleaning, testing, and other assessments to ensure optimal performance.

NT1PC fully supports this necessary maintenance activity, as it is strictly outlined in the PPA. We recognize the importance of this inspection in maintaining the power plant’s safety and efficiency. This ensures that the Nam Theun 1 Power Plant continues to provide a reliable and sustainable source of electricity.
